Intro:-
We all want to grow and handle team and guide people to do what is right and how to get things done and for that only we have team leaders and managers in corporate world but most of the team leader and managers are not the Good leaders. as per the definition a good leader is one who has knowledgeable in their fields, and worthy of respect. There are many ways to lead and handle a team no matter if the team is small or big, no matter if you're handling a school cricket team or representing indian cricket team in world cup or if you are the leader of your family and sole responsible to handle your complete family and family members. it can be anything so today we are going discuss about few tips on HOW TO BE A GOOD LEADER?1. Have fun with your team members(they are your second family).
In most of the cases we get so stuck in task and to get the project completed we missed out the fun that we should have on time.Plan fun session: if you're handling a team, you should be enjoying with them sometimes, show some love and affection toward your team. your team is like a second family that you have. you're like a father and your team is your children and its really important to let them know how much you love them and care for them and they will certainly like it and work more passionately for you. (trust me, i'm one of those kind).
2. Be clear about with your expectations/ Reward / Punishment
Although we are a family but in each family we have expectation. don't we have that?
so for example if i have child, i will definitely try to provide as much as i can and as much as my child require but in return i will certainly have some expectation from him/her.
be crystal clear with that suppose if my father tells me if i can get 90% in my finals, he will take me to the disneyland otherwise i have to clean dishes for next complete year(which i already do) so here what my dad did was that he set his expectation with me.
He knows that i can easily score 70%-80% but now he wants me to get 90% and also if i score less than 90% i have to the same thing again and again but if i achieve the given target, i certainly have bright future so i will focus more on studies than playing video game.
SO BE CLEAR WITH WHAT REALLY DO YOU WANT FROM YOUR TEAM!
3. Be liked and respected by the team.
If you're one of those who has bossy kind of attitude, you're not going to survive in this for long.
we have to accept the fact the nobody is perfect. we all make mistakes and it's better to admit the mistake than hiding it and showing yourself superior. Of course, you can avoid always admitting that you've made a mistake, because you want to look like you know what the heck you're doing but still if someone finds out... let it be admit it.
Share your personal-professional story with team to motivate and help them to understand the corporate industry. let them what problems you faced and how you overcome them but at the same time we need to assure that we not getting too casual or to chatty. It's healthy to make friends in the workplace, but if all you're doing is chatting everyone up at the watercooler, people may think you're more focused on gaining approval than being a good leader.
