Why there is a ban on NDTV India and why not to other news channel?
NDTV is an Indian television media company founded in 1988 by Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy . NDTV is an acronym for the original name of the company, New Delhi Television. Why was NDTV India banned? On November 4 the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ordered the channel to go off air on November 9 for it had divulged strategically sensitive details while covering January's deadly attack on the Pathankot air base. What does the law say? Under Rule 6(1)(p) of the Cable TV Network (Regulation) Act, no programme should be carried in the cable service which contains live coverage of any anti-terrorist operation by security forces, wherein media coverage shall be restricted to periodic briefing by an officer designated by the appropriate government, till such operation concludes.
