Intro
Promotions are not a given, you need to grab the opportunity but the question is how one can do that. don't you worry because today I’m going to share my thought on the same.
I have been an agent and I did receive a great opportunity and
guess what I grabbed that because believe it or not you get opportunity once in lifetime and you can't possibly think to lose that but little did I know that it’s not about
that specific moment.
Getting a promotion is a journey, Believe it or not. This is corporate world and people judge you all the time. Although they will never say it to you on your face but your co-workers, your seniors are always talking about you whether it’s good or bad but they discuss everything. So the point is how do we maintain a good repo? How would one will know that he is doing good and he is on right path?

Don’t worry, we are here to discuss about this only.
1. Profile you’re in/ Team Player:-
The first thing is how good you are in your
current assigned profile. Are you excellent, average or below average performer?
If you’re excellent than its bit difficult for you and bit easy as compared to
others. You ask why?
I will tell you, you might do excellent
work in the promoted post but till now you’re excellent with assigned task only
and you haven’t done anything out of the box thing.
For example: if you’re in sales and continuously
achieving your target with great margin and you’re like role model to other
when it comes to number but what have
you done for the team.
If I have to choose between excellent
caller and average caller. I will see who has brought the changes within the
team. Because believe it or not, it’s always about the team and there is no I
in a team.
In my experience I have observed that
average callers are the one, who are good with number and good with the team. Helping
others, teaching others about what's missing and how they can be excellent too.
So ask yourself are
you an excellent team player?
2. Relationship with Seniors:-
If you’re good with your supervisors or
manager, it automatically add 10% profit in your kitty and gets you one step
closer to your promotion. Well I think we all know that!
The only thing here I can add is. It’s not
only about your boss or manager, be kind to each and every one. Believe in
Karma and trust me, Karma is bitch, what goes around comes around!
If you’re kind and humble, everybody
will like you. no matter if it's a peon, security guard or CEO of the company and
trust me these are people you should be bonding because these people know more
about management decision than any other co-worker or team leader. #Truestory!
3. Knowledge and skills:-
Another important things is how well you
know your company and its policy,
How well you’re using your skills to improve your own process or as in to company's profit.

Ownership and leadership are two different
things.
Ownership:
is you’re ever ready to do things which you know, even when you’re not comfortable but you work to only assigned
task, which is assigned to you by your seniors and not you own idea. You’re
like a warrior, who acts and fights on orders and can't do anything of your own.
Leadership:
on other hand leadership is to identify the gap and change the system to
create better process environment.
Ownership + Leadership + Good Behavior = Lethal
combination (For Sure, Secret to success)
4. Ask for More Responsibilities:- (worked for
me)
See before you joined any organization,
there were people who had set some bar and according to which you’re currently
working and one day somebody will come and set the bar to higher range, so
instead of waiting for the one. Why can’t you be the one.
You know how much times actually it take to
finish a task and if you have spare don’t afraid to ask for extra responsibilities
and trust me it leaves a positive thought about you to others.
5. Act Professionally at All Times.
Don’t get carried
away or blurt out the first thing hits your brain, nobody wants to see real
you. They want to see someone they think you are. Someone they can trust on,
someone who can hold their back in bad times. In reality we all know, nobody
gives fuck about other people. Cooperate is a journey which you’re going to
travel by yourself and to make it easy is stay away from all the controversy,
escalation, be thoughtful, be a decision maker, be responsible like you own the
company and employees are like your own children.
Dress to impress, Dress like own the bank and not like you need loan
