Things To Remember Before Purchasing Used Electronics

Intro
We buy used cars, furniture, and sometimes clothes but buying used electronics may be the riskiest of all. They do not always have a valid warranty, may be defective, and may not work as long as newer ones. Still, buying used electronics may save you money and help reduce environmental waste. Fortunately, you can come out on top if you ask the right questions and take the following steps.

Step 1: Research the product itself.
There are versions of particular products that may have a known fault with them.
Read online reviews You can ask the owner questions to see if the product has these problems.

Step 2: Become familiar with the lingo.
A refurbished product hasn't necessarily been used; it may have been sent back to the manufacturer for a cosmetic reason, fixed accordingly, and sold as refurbished

Step 3: Ask Questions.
Ask about who fixed or refurbished the product. If the manufacturer did it, then there is less risk involved than if it was done by a third party.

Step 4: Make sure the product comes with a decent warranty.
If you are buying from a retail chain or other reputable sellers, chances are that some sort of warranty is available. Find out how long this lasts and what it covers. Can you buy additional coverage? If so, for how long and how much does it cost? Even if you choose not to buy the extended warranty, the fact that it is offered might suggest the company or manufacturer's confidence in the product. A shorter warranty (about 6-months and under) could show a lack of confidence in the product.

Step 5: Test Product
If possible, test the product before buying it. If you are buying from someone besides a retail chain, this is especially important. While this will not guarantee that it will not break later, it at least makes sure that you have a current working product.

Pakistani Court Charges Baloch Brother With Murder In Honor Killing

The Pakistani court on December 6 charged the brother of a slain social media star and two accomplices with her murder, and moved toward trial in the high-profile "honor killing."

Qandeel Baloch, who was famed for her hot selfies, was strangled in July by her monster brother Muhammad Waseem. He said she had brought shame on the family and confessed to his crime in a press conference after his arrest.

While she was demeaned by detractors, her fans praised her courage for challenging social norms with videos that appeared tame by Western standards.

Waseem appeared before a Multan court on December 5 along with his cousin Haq Nawaz, whom police say is an accomplice. A second indicted accomplice, taxi driver Abdul Basit, is out on bail.

Pakistani officials said the court indicted all three men and set a hearing for December 8.

Some of Baloch's controversial acts included offering to perform a striptease for the Pakistani cricket team, and donning a plunging scarlet dress on Valentine's Day.

Waseem has said he is not remorseful over what he did, calling his sister's behavior "intolerable."

Reliance Jio Welcome Offer to be Valid Until March 2017

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Reliance Jio disrupted the telecom sector in India with the launch of the 4G service in September. Now, the service provider is in the headlines regarding the extension of the Welcome Offer.

Initially, when the service was announced, the Welcome Offer was rolled out with free and unlimited voice calls, 4G data, messages and app access, and the same is valid until December 31, 2016.

While the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer still exists, there are a lot of speculations regarding the Welcome Offer 2. It is believed that the Welcome Offer 2 will begin once the existing offer is over and will be valid for another 90 days. For those who are confused, here we come up with a few details related to the Welcome Offer 2 that we know so far.

Why Welcome Offer 2?
TRAI regulations impose a limit of 90 days for any promotional offer. The company’s Welcome Offer that exists now was announced along with the service on September 5 and it was will end on December 3, 2016 that is after 90 days. After all, its just a promotional offer

100 million users target will remain unachieved
Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio had a target of achieving 100 million subscribers this year. Notably, Welcome Offer comes to an end on December 3 but the free services will be offered until December 31, 2016. As the company won’t be able to achieve its target of 100 million users by the end of this year, there is a possibility for the company to extend the offer in some way until March 2017. This way, it might be able to achieve the target in the first quarter of the next year.

Welcome Offer 2 launch date remains unclear
As mentioned above, the Welcome Offer 2 and the free services that will be offered under the same remain unclear. However, it is believed that it will be launched on the day the original Welcome Offer will come to an end that is December 3. Though this is possible, it contradicts with another speculation stating that the company might announce the extension of the free services on December 28.

Existing Jio users might not get Welcome Offer 2
This speculation about the Welcome Offer 2 might disappoint the existing Jio users. Well, it is claimed that the upcoming offer will be only for the new subscribers who jump onto the Jio bandwagon. So, if you are using a Jio SIM with the Welcome Offer, then you will not get a chance to enjoy the Welcome Offer 2.

Welcome Offer 2 to be valid until March 2017
Going by the original offer that is valid for 90 days, the Welcome Offer is also likely to be valid for 90 days. Eventually, the offer will come to an end on March 2017.
